Personal Income Tax Preparation

Preparation and filing for individuals and families, done by the same person who signs the return.

A return that accounts for the year you actually had

Every return starts with your actual documents, not a template. W-2s and 1099s, records of business income and expenses, mortgage interest statements, investment and cryptocurrency reports, and last year's return give me the full picture of your deductions, credits and filing requirements. Filing gets more involved when something in your year changed: a new source of income, a marriage or other life change, a move across state lines, or picking up self employment work alongside a regular job. Each of those shifts what you owe and what you can claim, so I go through them with you rather than guessing from a form. I recommend starting the process in January rather than waiting for the deadline. Filing early reduces the window for someone else to file a fraudulent return using your information, and it gets any refund you are owed moving sooner.

What to have ready before we meet

Bring your W-2s and 1099s, records of any business or freelance income and expenses, mortgage interest statements, investment and cryptocurrency reports, and your prior year return. If something is missing, tell me rather than guessing at a number. Consultations happen in person at the Broadway office or virtually, through secure document upload and video, for clients anywhere in Texas.

I have prepared personal returns from this Alamo Heights office since 2010, and I hold both the CPA license and the IRS Enrolled Agent credential. Call (210) 842-8197.
