I am a Certified Public Accountant, licensed by the state board, and an IRS Enrolled Agent, licensed directly by the federal government. The CPA covers accounting practice. The Enrolled Agent licence is the one that lets me represent a client in front of the IRS, in any of the fifty states, for audits, collections and appeals. Most preparers hold neither. I hold both, which means the person who learns your file is the same person who answers for it.
A good rule of thumb: try not to plan your tax future until a qualified professional has spent some time with you, learning the details of your actual situation. That first conversation is free, and it is where the work really starts.

The office is at 4940 Broadway #225, in Alamo Heights, working with individuals, small business owners, freelancers, contractors and real estate investors across the San Antonio area and the wider state.
No handoff to a junior in March
This is a solo practice by design. The person you meet at the consultation is the person who prepares the return and the person who answers the notice if one arrives later.

The practice is a listed Better Business Bureau member, alongside the state CPA licence and the federal Enrolled Agent credential.
Free, and virtual across Texas
Consultations are free, in person at the Broadway office or by video for clients anywhere in Texas, using secure document upload for anything that needs to change hands.

What the licences mean in practice
A CPA licence comes from a state board. An Enrolled Agent licence comes from the IRS and carries the right to represent you before it, in all fifty states. Holding one is common. Holding both is the reason you only need one phone number when something goes wrong.
